Je hebt TomTom, Mio, ANWB routeplanner en Googlemaps. Allemaal handige hulpjes om makkelijk de weg te kunnen vinden door vooraf een routebeschrijving op te zoeken of ter plekke in je auto door een door jezelf uitgekozen stem in de goede richting geleid te worden. De TomTom van een kennis van mijn ouders heeft bij mijn ouders achter het huis eens gevraagd, toen hij de opdracht kreeg naar "thuis" te navigeren: "Wilt u onverharde wegen vermijden? Ja. Nee." De man klikt op Ja, waarop de TomTom hem beantwoordt: "Dan kan ik u niet verder helpen". En ja, mijn ouders wonen, net als ik, ver in het hoge noorden van Nederland, maar de ontwikkeling is hier inmiddels wel dusdanig doorgevoerd dat zowel mijn huis als dat van mijn ouders gewoon via een prima geasfalteerde weg te bereiken is. TomTom heeft daar dus even niet zo goed om zich heen gekeken. Nee, dan Google Maps. Op Facebook kwam ik de volgende tip tegen:
-Ga in Google Maps naar "routebeschrijving" -Typ Japan als startpunt en China als bestemming -Ga naar punt 43............ Zoals iedereen weet zijn Japan en China van elkaar gescheiden door de Grote Oceaan. Tussen de twee dichtstbijzijnde punten van China en Japan ligt maarliefst 782 km water. Maar waar TomTom een eventueel zandweggetje niet aandurft en roept dat hij je niet verder kan helpen, is Google Maps toch iets vasthoudender. In de routebeschrijving staat namelijk bij punt 43: Steek met een jetski de Grote Oceaan over........... 376 Comments
